D2 VF
75:
Designed with Atomic's
revolutionary Varioflex technology, the D2 Doubledeck VF 75 Select ski has
quickly become one of the most versatile skis out on the slopes today.
Engineered with Atomic Vario
flex design which optimizes the skis flex according to the pressure exerted
to the ski at a given time, the D2 VF 75 ski allows any level of skier to
enjoy a high end, all-mountain ski.
Matched with an Atomic Neox
Binding the D2 VF 75 ski setup is guaranteed to turn some heads on the
slopes this year.
Whether you are a novice
skier or an expert level skier, you will enjoy the benefits of Atomics D2
Doubledeck VF 75 select ski setup.
Doubledeck Tecnology:
Tested on the race circuit
during the last half of the past season, the VF Doubledeck
system is Atomics' biggest technological change on race skis for
the 2009/10 season.
The very name describes a
system in which the ski is divided on the two "decks" or as
Atomic picturesquely states, one ski is set on top of another
one.
These two skis which are
produced separately then are joined together so they can move
freely.
The lower deck
(adapter deck) adjusts to the slope while the upper deck
(control deck) distributes the power generated by the skier
allowing for a consistent pressure in every phase of the turn.
The greater the pressure
exerted in the turning phase, the harder the ski flexes and when
the skier applies less pressure to the upper deck, the ski has a
softer flex enabling easier turn initiation with a minimum of
effort.
The D2 Vario Flex is
maneuverable and dynamic in short turns and stable and forgiving
in long turns and when skiing straight ahead.
The secret is the
automatic adaptation of the flex during the turn and is done
with five connecting pieces made of elastomers between the upper
deck and the lower deck. This design gives the ski an active
suspension system which results in incredibly smooth skiing
feel.
The D2 Vario Flex shows
its strengths best in mixed terrain conditions or on poorly
groomed slopes. The D2 ski finds its position quickly (even at
high speeds) and thus prevents those strong oscillations that
often occur with conventional ski constructions which end up
causing technique errors.
Thanks to the new
technology the D2 Vario Flex combines all the power of a racing
machine with the comfort of an all-round ski.
