Hart:
A brand reborn.
The Hart brand was dominant in the ski industry for decades. Hartvig
(Hart) E. Holmberg, Jr. began manufacturing skis in 1955. Today his
grandson and team lead the Hart brand.
Hart introduced skis specifically made for women, children and ski
enthusiasts such as freestylers and mogul skiers. Hart skis were
worn by Olympic champions in the 1960s through to the 1990s. In 1965
they introduced a lifetime warranty, which further catapulted them
to industry prominence. Hart skis were by every measure a most
significant industry competitor.
Between 1955 and 1970 the company was run by ski enthusiasts to
great success. From 1970 until the late 1990s the brand was acquired
by larger organizations with plans that met varied levels of
success. Many consumers to this day recall their Hart skis with
loyalty and fondness.
A new team of avid skiers and game snow-sporters are Hart’s new
management team; they are passionate about the brand, and about
returning with vigor. This is a story about bringing new
innovations, new life into Hart – just like those first days in the
1950s.
Ultimately, this is the story of the power of a long-lasting brand
